The mainsail story

Hi,

Joska P., a friend of Aron from Slovakia intended to send him a mainsail.
By chance Imre T., who is living in the same village,
and works at Lighthouse divecenter (http://www.dahabdive.com/),
was just returning to Hurgada.
So he carried the sail (and some gifts) to Aron,
who stopped in Hurgada for a few days to meet Imre.

Aron left Hurgada today.

The Abu Ali story

Hi,

After Aron left Hurgada, dropped his anchor in a bay, Mersa Zeitiya.
(2009.06.9.  27-49N 033-34E  http://meder.hu/RedN_Arut.jpg)

Next day, as he left the place, the strong wind forced him to return.
Since then, two other yachts (Silver Hill and Esperanza) are waiting there.
They have also tried a few times to left the place, but were force to return.

A friend of Aron’s uncle has got relatives in Port Said.
They (Mohamed H. and his wife) heard about Aron, and contacted me.
They wanted to give some help to Aron.
Mahmud, Mohamed’s cousin is working on the ship Abu Ali,
which serves the oil wells nearby.
Mohamed arranged to get the ship a permit to go to Carina
to give some supplies (mainly food).

So, now he has got food enough, no rush, he can calmly wait for the better wind...
Many thanks Mohamed, Mahmud, Abu Ali’s captain, and the radio-amateurs,
who helped to communicate all the above

Else: I’ve got today the last translation of Aron’s logbook,
so you can follow the his trip: http://meder.hu/eng/newlogbook.htm

Escaped from the wind bondage

Hi,

Aron had been fed up with waiting for a better (slower) wind,
he followed Silver Hill to the Sinai peninsula, and he was followed by other yachts.
There they found smaller waves and better conditions.
Now, he hopes, he could progress almost every day a few hours and a few miles.

He was close to lose his high spirit, but now he became optimistic again :-)
His position 2009.07.01 UTC12:30 28-08N  033-39E
He is going to anchor at El Tor bay.

Carina and Aron again on the Adriatic Sea - Zeljko-News

Hi,

Aron dropped his anchor in a bay near Pula on 14 September.
The place (44-49,8N  013-51,5E) was suggested by Zeljko,
an 'Internet' friend of Aron. http://meder.hu/Medit3_Arut.jpg

Meantime Aron was waiting for the end of stormy winds,
with the help of Zeljko had Internet access,
was interviewed by a local newspaper:
www.24sata.hr/news/tri-godine-samoce-oplovio-svijet-u-barci-od-6-metara/135841/
and by Croatian national TV for a TV show about sea.

By now Aron left that bay and sailing with a fair wind (Yugo)
toward his starting point, Koper:

By the way, this is an article about Aron in Barletta:
http://meder.hu/eng/Barletta090909.htm
and this is Alessandro's translation edited by Lali:

Tomorrow Ivo, Mario and I are going to Zagreb Boat Show. There is a high probability that we get to the promotion of books in Budapest, it is only 300 km on the highway. Do you use your old cell phone numbers that I have?
